1611 Meters Elevation

The Vršič Pass is 1611 meters high and we met lots of tourist at the top. I felt lucky to find a port a pot. The view is showing the road Tony drove up.

Tony's drive to Vršič Pass

Tony decided he was confident enough driving the standard drive car so we headed to the Vršič Pass. This is a repeat of the route Jorgi took us on and this time Tony was able to drive the 24 switch backs up the mountain. This is the road which was made by the Russian Prisoners during WWI. At times he just followed the line of cars ahead of him. Some people park their cars and hike higher in the mountains people. Tourists like us just came for the view.

View from Hotel room

Tony and I were ready to check out of our Hotel Triglav. Very nice place but decided it was to far from the center of town. This is the view from our balcony.

Bled is known for Yummy desserts

I walked up the hill to look for lunch. This is another photo of the castle with St Martin in the foreground. I went to the Brown Bear Pastry Shop to enjoy a chocolate cream roll.

Bled Swans

I was taking photos of the swans till I captured this shot. The parked Pletnas are on the east side of the Lake. I bet they would have docked at the bottom of the grand Stairs.

Bled Castle

The first photos is of Bled castle on my return trip from the Island. I never tire of taking pictures of it. It's like Disney placed it there on purpose. I took the second photo while sitting on a bench next to Lake Bled.

Back to the Island

I bought a ticket to ride the Pletna and headed back to the Island in Lake Bled. The first picture was as we got closer to the church. My goal was to take a photo of the Island on the side with the grand stairs. The Pletna docked on the back side!!! So I walked around and climbed the stairs one more time. I am sorry but my body was too tired to post photos and now that I am rested I will finish my blog.
