Day for taking pictures
While Tony was busy I used my time taking photos of this beautiful town. I took a ride to the Otok Island on a Pletna boat. The photos are of the Island and of our Hotel in Bled.
Tony's hike to the Mountains
Laura and Vid invited Tony to hike in the Triglav National Park. They got an early start, then the clouds opened up and it poured. After they dried off the three of them drove to Lake Bohinj. The view is spectacular at the Vogel Ski Resort

Water Fall and lunch
Jorgi stopped at a beautiful water fall and he said it is usually bigger. I liked it. We stopped for lunch in Bovec where most of the conflict for WWI took place. Tony had never eaten a whole fish before.
Beautiful Views
The trip was well worth it. We were right at the border of Italy and Slovenia. The views were beautiful I snapped a picture of Jorgi taking our picture, Just take another step back!
Jorgi's Surprise
Jorgi told me he had a surprise. He was on this road which was not wide enough for two cars. I was a little nervous then he showed us the side of the mountain where an avalanche came through. We were heading to the Možnica Mountain of 1900m
Kluze Fort
The Kluze Fort was used during the Napoleon time in the 15th century. It was also used during the WWI battles.
Soča River
Our trip took us to the river valley. The Soča River is very cold and clear since it get the water from the mountains. he water level was low due to the drought Slovenia is experiencing.
Julius Kugy
Julius was a mountain climber and he studied plants during his adventures. They built this statue in the middle of these beautiful mountains and had him looking at the peaks
Look out
At this stop we saw some remains from WWI, Thys used a cable system to bring up supplies during the war.
Free Range Sheep
We reached the top of Vašič Pass ay 1600m. A big heard of sheep were grazing by the parked cars. Sheepy, Sheepy, Sheepy.
Ajda
This is two different angles to see the face of Ajda. She was cursed by the towns people for predicting the death of the Zlatorog (Golden Horn)
Switch Back
The Russian prisoners built this road through the Julian Alps. Each turn is numbered and this one is #8. There are 24 going up and 26 coming back down. Notice the cobble stones to help keep traction.
Russian Chapel
We stopped to see the Chapel built in the mountains to honor the Russian Prisoners of WWI, Hundreds lost their lives when an Avalanche rolled down the mountain. The chapel was built where the final body was found. Jorgi took advantage of the fresh spring water.
Heading to the mountains
Jorgi picked us up at our hotel and we headed for the Vašič Pass. He stopped at Kranjska Gora so we could take a few pictures. Jorgi was very happy to see snow since Slovenia has had a very hot summer.
